Event Ideas - What To Do At Your Next Event

Some of the most common events are Conventions, Festivals, Corporate Events, Event Seminars, Business Meetings, Fundraisers, and Charity Events. Whether you are a beginner or veteran events planner, you still need to start on the right foot. The event ideas we mention here are intended to help guide you to success. Although there are many ideas, we will stick to a few popular ones.

Business Meeting Ideas

Creating meetings around various themes helps to give participants a sense of direction. Since a business meeting is supposed to be more work than play, music may not be a good idea, but a short documentary could crystallize company focus.

Building Something Great Together - Makes everyone involved feel needed and a part of the company's future. It opens the floor for constructive input enhancing company goals.

Please the Customer - have participants focus on what makes the customer happy and how to improve in service with a smile.

We Shall Overcome - Encourages attendees to persist and reach for success despite perceived obstacles.

Be creative when kicking off meetings to motivate and inspire.

Dart Board - Start off the meeting by allowing some shots at a dart board. Best shot gets to start off the meeting, appoint the moderator, or make the first suggestion about the topic at hand.

New Vocabulary - Ask your group to bring seldom used or obscure words to the next meeting. Have them use it in a way that applies to your business.

"If I Ran the Show..." - This can provide some insight into feasible changes that can improve things in important areas. Ask your staff what they would consider the perfect job, location, and work environment. Now that you have them thinking without boundaries, ask them what project would they work on or what special thing would they do if they ran the company, office, or department.

Fund Raising Ideas

Consider the following suggestions:

BBQ's - Everyone loves a BBQ, they can be a fun way to rally support for your cause.

A Raffle - There are many fashionable products that would strongly attract customers.

Car Wash - When the price is right a car wash is a valued service that can easily raise funds.

Charity Event Ideas

Promoting awareness as much as possible is paramount to your charity event success.

Dinner - Awards are distributed to honorees that helped to achieve landmark milestones for the organization. Tickets can be sold commercially or through your network of friends and supporter. Invitees attend a dinner where presentations are made regarding the organization's accomplishments and goals.

Bake Sales - A prize is awarded to the baked item voted as first place, second place etc. by attendees. Every one of the organization's members and their families can participate in producing their favorite specialties and these can sold at a profit to the organization at the "bake-off event".

Auction - Many favorite goods or services can be auctioned off to raise money for your non-profit organization. Another approach is to involve local businesses to donate merchandise, time or even money to start your auction with a bang.

Corporate Event Ideas

There are some interesting twists to freshen up the atmosphere with entertainment. Motivation is very important in a corporate environment, so celebrating anniversaries and achievements will boost inspiration on all levels.

Comedians - Comedians use specific appropriate topics that help put the audience in the right mood.

Live music or Professional sound system - It is essential to select entertainment that is suitable for your guests and your business personality.

Magic Shows - Can be a pleasant introduction that provides a playful atmosphere.

Seminar Ideas

There are various styles in which a meeting can be conducted. Choosing the one that fits the current working climate can help propel everyone in the right direction.

Human Resource Seminars - Offer all sorts of employee performance training, management, and career development seminars. Help build up the proper work environment in your business or company by coaching, succession planning, key employee identification, and organization development.

Sales Training Seminars - Can assist your sales force to hone their salesmanship abilities and educate them about new software or tools to become more adept in their sales role.

Management Seminars - Refine leadership qualities and exercise management abilities to help your executives and managers increase their performance.

Festival Ideas

These are entertainment-only functions, and can be geared to provide fun for families and groups of all kinds. Themes can be tailored to make any social event exciting and interesting.

Fun Foods - Pizza, Popcorn, Potato Chips, Snow Cones, Cotton Candy, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, French Fries, etc.

Prize-Winning Games - Ring the Coke Bottle, Basketball shots, Shoot down cans w/water gun, Gaming wheels, etc.

Ride Rentals - Large and small Bounce houses, Choo-Choo Train, Ferris wheels, Roller coasters, Spin rides.

Convention Ideas

Conventions bring vendors and customers together in an open forum where contacts are made, new products are introduced, big ideas are discussed and new sales leads are developed.

Entertainment - Sound systems playing appropriate music, Live musicians or even stage performers.

Promotional Products - Key Chains, Picture Frames, Award Gifts, Bags, Pens with logo, etc.

Exhibition Tools - All shapes and sizes of displays are used to share space and provide maximum visibility.

Conference Ideas

A conference can be quite intense and needs slackening of tension at regular intervals.

Participants meet in order to discuss, consult, or exchange information about related fields.

Give Prizes - Prizes should be awarded to the people who have done something that helped the conference to be a success, whether something funny, silly or just plain helpful. If your conference is small, contributions to success can be rewarded after the conference.

Reception - Should have pleasing interior decoration, door prizes or gifts, etc.

Stand Up/Stretch Breaks - Play some music, have someone lead the break showing everyone how to twist, do aerobics, dance, or just a good march in place. Keep people energized and attentive. Have breaks between speakers.

Keep Up the Momentum - If you put on a grand finale it will make a lasting impression and may influence your participants decision to come to your next conference.

Plan surprises for attendees at least on par with your welcoming reception. Don't let the conference lose color towards the finish - even if the staff has to fake it, keep things going. Have entertainment and 'walk out' music. Organizers should be present at the door to thank the participants.

Beethoven Lives! The Joy of Classical Music Web Radio

This article has a soundtrack. You can't hear it right now, but I can. As I sit here typing, Dvorak's Slavonic Dance, Op. 72 No. 6, fills the air here in my home office. I'm streaming it from a Web radio station that is situated in Chula Vista, Mexico.

XLNC has a regular broadcast station on 90.7 FM, serving the Tijuana-San Diego area. The reason I'm able to enjoy it here in North Carolina is because of XLNC's Internet stream. (In an unusual turn of events, XLNC was actually started as a Web radio station, only later adding an over-the-air component.)

XLNC's sound is gorgeous. The audio stream coming through my PC speakers is as good and possibly a bit better than the local classical music station that I can listen to on my home stereo system.

Classical music broadcasting has made something of a comeback in recent years, thanks in part to satellite radio (XM and Sirius), and thanks in part to the Internet. Classical music has always had a devoted following, but one that was relatively small. As a consequence, it was in danger of disappearing from radio altogether.

At one time, you could be certain of hearing classical music on almost any public radio station you tuned to. But over time, even these stations began shifting away from classical to more popular music forms such as folk, bluegrass, Celtic, blues, etc. Or, they became more talk-oriented.

Nowadays, though, classical music fans can breathe easier. As long as they are connected to the Internet (or have a satellite radio subscription), they can find an abundant choice of classical music stations to enjoy. I found the XLNC link through a Web site that listed and described 100 Internet radio stations whose programming is wholly or in large part devoted to classical music.

Classical music is not dead. It is alive and healthy--on Internet radio. Why not give it a listen and hear it for yourself?

Stefan Smith is a radio junkie who writes on entertainment and related subjects for the Solid Gold Info Writers Consortium. Recently, he has written an extensive review of new software that anyone can use to capture music audio streams from Internet radio broadcasts and break them up into individual mp3 song files--a legal way to download virtually free music. Symphony of Human Dynamics

Differences are inevitable when two or more persons come together. It would be pointless and boring for two or more to come together if there are no differences. Some differences are pleasant; others can be disconcerting. Differences can accelerate to disharmony, conflict, competition, or war.

While a reasonable amount of conflict can be creative and enriching, conflict that is not properly managed can be harmful. Interpersonal conflicts as contrasted to conflicts of ideas or principles are in special need of careful management. Viewing conflict or disharmony as the expression of differences can help to take the fear from conflict. Of course, if it is a heated or emotionally charged conflict, just re-naming it is unlikely to defuse the charge. But it may be enough for you to find your place of harmony in the conflict.

Living in conscious harmony is like playing in a symphony and knowing that we are playing in a symphony. At any given moment, our section of the orchestra may be in temporary harmony or temporary disharmony. Both group members and musicians must have the conscious intention to strive for harmony without being discouraged by the momentary notes of disharmony that add interest to the experience.

The symphonys composer wrote a score which the conductor interprets and the musicians play with different instruments, in their own style, according to their ability. At some times, we are more aware of one instrument than another. Or we hear a solo or a duet.

When we listen deeply to the music, we notice space between the notes: rhythm. Colors and tones and volume add texture and interest: timbre. We have different responses to different parts: feelings.

Satisfaction increases when everyone in the orchestra reads at the same place on the same sheet of music. At some times, its important for a musician to play softly to blend with the rest of the sounds and add texture. At other times, its important to play loudly, even being the center of attention. Rhythms might change, even in the middle of a piece. Sounds might fight with each other to heighten drama before leading to resolution.

Joy happens when everyone perceives the symphony as all One, with each instrument playing an important part. In order to live in conscious harmony, we must embrace the concept that we are all One. Comparing the interactions of individuals in groups to a the interactions of musicians in a symphony or an orchestra can be powerful.

What is the song you will sing or the dance you will dance or the instrument you will play today?

Why Bollywood Ringtones Are The "In" Thing

The pull of popular culture is what is driving the current worldwide popularity of mobile phones. Owning a cool phone is considered the "in thing" and makes people feel that they "belong". Popular culture is also the reason for the current popularity of certain fringe cultural outlets like world cinema or world music. It is not surprising that these two worlds - phones and world cinema - would meet and come up with a surprisingly new and fresh fad. Bollywood ringtones on your mobile phone.

For those who are as yet unfamiliar with the term, Bollywood is a term that has been given to the Hindi-language film industry in India. The term "Bollywood" is a mix of the names "Bombay" (which is the old name of Mumbai) and "Hollywood" the acknowledged center of the American film industry. The Indian film industry is one of the most robust in the world. It is considered as one of the most prolific in terms of the number of films released each year. It is also the number one when it comes to the total number of ticket sales.

The most unique (or most peculiar, depending on your personal taste) feature of Bollywood movies are the musical numbers incorporated into almost all movie offerings. This does not necessarily mean that Bollywood movies are all musicals. It is just that by tradition, a movie is not considered complete without a song and dance number. And unlike the typical musical, these numbers contain plot points and action that are not found in US-style musical. For most Indian moviegoers a movie that does not contain at least one song and dance number is considered incomplete and not worth the price of the ticket. Traditional Indian dance and music forms heavily influence these song and dance numbers. Even pop or modern songs and dances are injected with distinctively Indian elements that make them quite unique.

It is these unique Bollywood songs (also known as filmi music) that are gaining a renewed popularity as ringtones for mobile phones. There may be two major reasons for the growing popularity of Bollywood ringtones. First, Indian cinema is gaining a new level of international popularity in other countries. Film lovers are discovering that Bollywood films have merits that makes them so compelling to watch. Lovers of kitsch, on the other hand, find Bollywood movies fantastical enough that it captures their attention.

The second reason for the popularity may also be attributable to it being such a peculiar yet cheeky way of having a ringtone. A bollywood ringtone on a person's phone may paint a picture of that person as a lover of film and / or a person who has a sense of humor and loves to bring something unusual to his phone.

Customizing your mobile phone's ringtone with a Bollywood ringtone shows that you are a person that is both a lover of culture but not afraid to poke a little fun at yourself. These qualities may be the reason that Bollywood ringtones are becoming such a popular choice among people.

How To Play Piano Despite Years Of Lesson

Why is it that after years of studying something as a child, we forget later in life what we learned? Such is the common question of how to play piano despite years of lesson. Here i get you back to playing music even if you think you've lost it, and have begun to give up on how to play piano despite years of lesson.

First, realize that you have had lesson in piano, years of it perhaps, and that DOES count for a whole lot. How to play piano despite years of lesson entails mentally realizing that you really are only a step or two away from being able to play piano. The problem is that it seems like that first step is a big hurdle, and obviously a frustrating one having already had lesson, but unable to play.

Second: Start slow, do scales. Get the basic scales out and go through them. It took me actually having to number my keyboard at first, i had forgotten so much. From there i was able to translate the numbers to notes, and the scales began to get familiar. So often in trying to figure how to play piano despite years of lesson we don't want to succumb back to the simple things. This scale practice is also preparation for the next step.

Third. Twinkle twinkle little star. That's correct. I can't think of a better way to get back in the game and figure how to play piano despite years of lesson than to go back to a simple melody or song and start playing it over and over. This connects everything - the notes, fingerings, melody and sound - all together as one, and the simplest route is by practicing a simple children's song. Again the hardest part is going to mentally get over the hurdle of playing little kids songs when you "feel" as if you should be playing grander pieces. But if one wants to get to grander pieces and answer the question of how to play piano despite years of lesson, then one has to bite the bullet and get back to raw basics.

Finally, one should research new ways of learning to play piano! Since most people last took lessons years ago, they may not realize that new methods or techniques have come out that can cut to the chase much more clearly and quickly than before. From teachers to online courses, there are different outlets and methods to now explore while realizing how to play piano despite years of lesson is definitely an achievable goal!

Quick and Easy Piano learning methods do now exist. Check out http://www.squidoo.com/easy-piano-play/ for Chess's blog to further find out how to play piano despite years of lesson. Thanks so much for reading and feel free to check out http://www.squidoo.com/easy-piano-play/ Thanks!

How To Get A Disney Channel Acting Audition

Kids all over the country dream of making it big in show business. While acting jobs can be hard to land, it is possible to break into this difficult field by answering a call for a Disney Channel acting audition. Many of today's hottest young entertainers got their start from a Disney Channel acting audition. Though there are sometimes hundreds, or even thousands of people competing for just a few spots, this has been the big break that boosted the career of many performers.

The easiest way to land a Disney Channel acting audition is through an agent. They are made aware of current calls and will have the specifics of the open roles available. It is much easier for inexperienced actors and actresses to get themselves noticed by using an agent than attempting to land these highly sought after roles on their own. While there are ways of getting a Disney Channel acting audition on your own, this is the simplest route.

A great resource that will allow you an inside look at a Disney Channel acting audition listing is the Disney website at http://corporate.disney.go.com/auditions/. Their corporate section has a special page that will let the public know about any open auditions, casting calls, or extras opportunities. While this may not get you the scoop on every Disney Channel acting audition, it can be a foot in the door if you do not have an agent. Check this page regularly to see what auditions are being offered nearest you.

Though winning a part through a Disney Channel acting audition can be difficult, with hard work it is possible. Just take a look at all of the big name celebrities who have become hugely successful after a start on the Disney Channel. Who knows, maybe you could be the next huge success!

Rian Avanau is an avid Disney fan. He happily maintains a website with reviews of disney games and the games based on the latest disney channel shows

A Website Without Video Is Like

Jell-O Without Whip Cream

Do you like Jell-O? It's okay I guess; I mean it's not a hot fudge sundae is it? But if you add a little whip cream, then my friend you've got something worth calling dessert. My question to you is, does your website have that something extra, that dollop of whip cream on top that says, "oh mama let me at it," or does it just lie there squirming in your dish with the sound of Peggy Lee's voice ringing in your ears, "is that all there is?"

If your website disappointments, you need something that provides the 'eureka factor' and that can be provided with a creative, informative Web-video.

The Chicago Bulls Without Michael Jordan

How the mighty have fallen, at least in terms of brand personality. I mean it's not like the Chicago Bulls stink? It's just that without MJ they're not the Chicago Bulls of old. When Michael played we all watched, he was magic, he wasn't just a great basketball player, he was a great personality and he gave the team it's character; no Michael, no personality.

Is your website like the new Chicago Bulls, a talented group of players with skills but no singular personality? Time for a humanity injection, add a Web-video featuring a signature character host who can generate some excitement and establish your unique business personality.

Television Without Sound

You're watching your favorite television show, say CSI, the Vegas one not Miami, and the phone rings. It's your mother. You turn the television's sound down so you can hear her but you're still watching the show. You love your Mom but Grissom has just discovered a new miniature killer clue and you need to know what is going on, but your Mom is carrying on about how your Dad needs new dentures or something Frustrating. No audio, no information.

Does your website have the same effect as watching television without the sound. It's there, people visit, but they leave without getting your message. Time to add a little life to your presentation in the form of a Web-video that tells your story out loud.

Words Without Meaning

Have you ever reread someone's website copy several times and still not understood what the heck they're trying to tell you, or maybe you understand every word but still can't figure out what they're selling?

Words have meaning, they are meant to convey a message not hide it. A lousy video script is no better than lousy print copy. Your Web-audience has no patience for mumbo-jumbo that masquerades as information or for text and dialog that says nothing in as many words as possible in an effort to attract the search engines. Words have meaning, say them with style and deliver them with conviction.

The Rumba Without Rhythm

Have you ever sat at a wedding and watched people dance? There are the people who know how to move, how to respond to the their partners and to communicate with the slightest of gestures or movements. And then there are the others who look like they've got something icky stuck to the bottom of their shoes and are trying desperately to remove it.

If you want to communicate to your audience, you have to use all the techniques available. Communication is more than just copy, its voice, gesture, movement and meaningful dialog.

Romance Without Kisses

Ah the first kiss, something special that can seal a relationship or sour it forever. Your landing page is like that first embrace. Is yours as exciting as it could be, or is it like the guy who spends the entire first date talking about his double entry booking keeping skills?

A well-crafted, expertly presented marketing message is like a seduction; if you're not generating any excitement don't expect to produce any sales either. Boring mission statement gobbledygook and keyword-laden palaver are not the same as an enticing video. An engaging business story, well told, is like a juicy wet-one planted right on your audience's lips.

A Joke Without A Punch Line

Everybody likes a funny story. A good joke is nothing more than a short story with a set-up, an escalation, and a twist, but the real key to a good story lies in the telling. Even comedians with second-rate material can get their audience's howling if they know how to deliver their material.

It's all well and good to repeat the mantra, "websites are about content," but if that content isn't delivered with some style and panache, don't expect anybody to pay much attention.

A Song Without A Hook

Hit songs are highly structured stories with verses that function as chapters or acts, and a chorus that provides the hook that sticks in your audience's heads. Add a toe tapping beat and some instrumental flourishes and you've got something that people will listen to over and over again.

Does that sound like your website presentation? Are people willing to come back to your site just to watch your presentation, or does your website leave visitors with a 'been there, done that' impression?

Information Without Knowledge

Just because you're in business doesn't mean you've got to be boring. And just because you dump a lot of facts and figures and bulleted points onto your Web-pages doesn't mean you're making a convincing argument for anyone to buy your stuff.

Web audiences demand more. If you won't give it to them, you can be sure someone else will, like maybe your competition.

Interactivity Without Purpose

Can we all just stop and take a breath and think about this whole interactivity thing. Let's all get interactive, why? I mean what is interactivity anyway? Is it developing a hugely expensive game that people can play on your website to avoid working, or is it getting them to click on the "Tell Me More" button?

I vote for the interactivity that leads to opening a dialogue with a potential client, one that gets visitors to pick up the phone and call you to discuss their needs, not the one that generates a "Game Over" message. Of course that assumes you're willing to actually talk to customers.

Frequency Without Resonance

I happened to like vinegar on my fries, okay it's weird I admit it, but the Dutch like mayonnaise on theirs, even weirder. I once had a chef in a Tucson restaurant come out of the kitchen and confront me when I asked the waiter for vinegar (it's a Canadian thing). The chef approached the table and asked who ordered the vinegar? I reluctantly raised my hand. "You must be from Canada," he said, "I'm from Victoria, where you from?"

Good advertising is all about delivering a message that resonates with your audience. It doesn't matter how many times you run an advertisement if that advertisement doesn't make an impression on your audience. You can't be afraid to be creative or even a bit weird.

Humor Without Laughter

Dr. Max Sutherland in his e-mail newsletter report, "False Alarm Theory: How Humorous Ads Work" describes how laughter is a hardwired residual mechanism that developed in our ape days as an 'all clear' signal once a danger had past. The 'all clear' message is passed on from one ape to another, until the entire troop is screeching with the ecstasy of survival.

A guy slips on a banana and breaks his neck - that's not funny. A guy slips on a banana, jumps up and looks around to see if anybody saw - that's funny. Humor is based on creating some sense of uncertainty or tension that is ultimately relieved with a humorous punch line or comforting resolution. The safe or amusing resolution creates a chain reaction in the audience that signals, "hay guys, all is well; everything is back to normal."

Without tension there can be no relief, no opportunity for an entertaining resolution that creates a cascading viral reaction among your audience. So don't expect your website to be passed on to friends and colleagues unless you deliver a compelling presentation that offers the opportunity to signal the rest of the world that all is well.

Rare Vinyl Records - Determining the Value of Vinyl Records

Spring cleaning is over, and you're staring at seven crates of rare vinyl records that your parents had stuffed in a corner of your basement for the last 15 years. Forgotten memories? Or potential goldmine? The value of records is increasing, much like the sales, and record dealers and enthusiasts alike are looking to grade and price their collections for reselling on the market, eBay being the largest marketplace at this moment in time.

If you own collectible or rare vinyl records, it would be in your best interest to have those records appraised to determine their worth. The most common way of discovering the value would be to seek the services of a professional records appraiser, who will analyze the condition, rarity, and playability of the record. As well, they will take a look at other aspects such as:

  • The release date - The older the record, the more it could be worth.
  • Whether the record is sealed or not - If it hasn't been played, the value will increase.
  • Limited release records also hold increased value - e.g. only 1000 copies pressed.

If you happen to have several crates of old LP's and 45's that you are interested in getting appraised, it could wind up to be fairly expensive especially if you have limited knowledge of how records are graded. My suggestion would be to purchase a vinyl records price guide which lists the current market price and requirements for buying and selling rare vinyl LP's. I have used Tim Neely's Goldmine Record Album Price Guide for quite a few years, and it is by far the most comprehensive and easy to navigate price guide on the market today.

Cover Art is also a factor to consider when looking to buy or sell rare vinyl records. During the 60's and 70's many celebrity artists collaborated with musicians and bands they respected in the form of cover art and inner sleeves, Andy Warhol being one of the more popular. Don't forget that any artwork with nudity seems to be popular amongst buyers just the same! Remember, vinyl outsold CD's in 2007 for the first time in many, many years and this is a great time to get into collecting records and begin experiencing the warmth and quality that they bring. If you download an mp3 you're given a thin-sounding, compressed audio file with a digital image thumbnail of the album cover and artwork. With vinyl records you get an experience that is truly one of a kind, and there is no feeling quite like it!

Rare Vinyl Records are becoming increasingly popular amongst the listening public, visit Elijah's latest web project http://www.INeedVinyl.com to get your fix! The site is jam-packed with useful articles, as well as some of the cheapest vinyl LP's and 45's on the internet.

However if you'd rather ride, take the Volk's Electric Railway, England's oldest, along Madeira Drive to Brighton Marina, admiring the fine Regency terraces as you go.

Nightlife in Brighton

Brighton's nightlife can very roughly be divided into three geographical areas; the seafront, which is conveniently removed from any close neighbours and has several clubs in the old arches; the Lanes and North Laine areas, where there is more variety and most clubs and bars appeal to a larger audience; and Kemp Town, which is also very diverse but with a stronger fringe touch and sense of bohemian abandon.

There are plenty of good bars and pubs in Brighton. Koba Bar, 135 Western Road; The Dorset, 28 North Road; and Brighton Rocks, 6 Rock Place, in Kemp Town are all recommended.

Brighton's clubs include Concorde, which is a famous music and dance club; Ocean Rooms, a stylish nightclub with action on three floors; and Audio, a trendy, sophisticated club with regular gigs in an intimate environment. The choice is as varied as the people that frequent them and well worth exploring until you find your favourite!

The live music scene in Brighton is also very good with many excellent venues. Concorde also doubles up as a very popular rock venue. The Old Market in Hove is good for folk music. Both Komedia and the Brighton Dome are great venues for a wide range of musical styles and genres.

Wedding Music, Wedding Videos, and Copyright Infringement Laws

Every industry is affected by the restraints of music copyright laws and the wedding industry is no exception. With the increase in enforcement of those that commit copyright infringement, wedding professionals including wedding videographers, wedding planners and anyone else choosing or using wedding music in their projects are not exempt from paying large fees for all wedding video music, music for wedding videos and any other music they need.

The ease of downloading all types of music, and particularly wedding music via the internet and through both illegal and legal file sharing programs has gone up exponentially as the availability of such programs has increased. Because of the increased availability of copyright protected music, large music providers such as BMI and ASCAP have begun to prosecute in cases where people have not paid appropriately for use of the wedding video music, background music and production music that professionals and other individuals use in their projects.

While it is impossible for large companies to prosecute all violators of copyright laws, many wedding video companies, both large and small have already found themselves paying exorbitant fees that total well over the amount they would have paid had they legally purchased the wedding music in the first place just to settle copyright infringement issues. Just because a video is not intended for public viewing does not make it non-infringing to use popular music as a background music or production music, and public performance is one of the reserved rights of the copyright owners.

Wedding professionals and videographers have a tall order to fill. Not only are they responsible for filming the ceremony, reception and all other aspects of the wedding day, but also they are responsible either for choosing music that compliments the spirit of the day, the couples personalities and the high quality of the video through an appropriate and rich soundtrack of background music and production music. Weddings today vary much more than they used to; more couples are seeking wedding music and wedding video music that strays from the traditional and ranges from contemporary to cutting edge and progressive.

Regardless of the couples preferences, wedding professionals must either choose fully representative wedding video music themselves from the huge amount available, or buy the rights to the music the couple asks for from a music provider. Unfortunately, the cost of paying royalties to large companies in order to use both traditional and contemporary original wedding music in videos, ceremonies and at receptions is extremely expensive. Wedding videographers and other individuals that handle many ceremonies, receptions and projects per month might expect to pay thousands of dollars per month in order to legally use popular wedding video music, music for wedding ceremonies and all other types of wedding music.

And because every client is different and has different musical tastes, these professionals must make sure they have a very large and comprehensive library of wedding music to choose from to make every project unique and make sure it accurately captures the spirit of the big day and the personality of the married couple. Not every wedding videographer and professional, and particularly those for whom weddings are only a small part of their total business plan, can afford to exorbitant royalty fees associated with wedding music and satisfying copyright laws.

So what is the answer for wedding videographers that wish to both avoid copyright infringement and provide high quality and original wedding video music that does not take a huge chunk out of their limited budget? Many wedding professionals avoid the use of buyout music and royalty free music because they find often it does not offer the best quality background music and production music to fulfill their complex needs and satisfy their discriminating tastes. Although it is very inexpensive, buying the wrong royalty free music for wedding videos can destroy a wedding video, ceremony or reception for the couple and family, and the memories can be lost forever. However, comprehensive and rich pieces of royalty free wedding music do exist.

Wedding videographers will find selections of royalty free music and wedding video music that can be seamlessly integrated as background music and production music, and represents every musical genre, from traditional styles such as classical to more progressive and contemporary styles like light rock, jazz and even Hip Hop, techno and dance music. The royalty free wedding music and music for wedding videos in this large library will express the unique personalities of every couple and preserve the memory of their special day for years to come. And because all tracks are royalty free music, clients will pay a one-time very low fee for unlimited use of the wedding music, allowing them to increase their library regularly and offer a larger selection to their clients.

Royalty free wedding music will become important as copyright infringement laws get stricter and more wedding professionals have to adjust the music they use to fit their budgets. Companies such as http://www.RoyaltyFreeMusic.com provide beautifully-crafted and performed royalty free music that will make excellent production music and background music for every type of wedding video, ceremony and reception. All the selections are performed by the best musicians in the industry that have worked with and performed with important figures in the classical music world, and with Grammy Award winning pop, rock and jazz recording artists that produce music heard throughout the world.

Help, Due to Physical Problems I Have Difficulty Exercising

"Oh, I can't exercise. I've got a bad knee. I can't lift my arms above shoulder height." How often we hear such statements. They may well be true but most problems need not stop a person from taking part in some form of keep fit activity. The difficulty for most people lies in discovering an approach which suits them.

These days we are all keenly aware that physical activity and a good diet are vital if we want to achieve and maintain optimum health. A workout helps keep ones body and brain healthy as we age. This, in turn, encourages an increase in the brain chemicals which help nerve cells to grow. Other benefits are stronger bones and muscles, better body tone and improved posture and balance.

But knowledge alone is not enough. Putting good intentions into practice can be very difficult indeed - especially so if keeping fit has not been a life-long habit. The consequences of poor diet and inadequate exercise often manifest themselves at a time of life when people find it a real struggle to alter attitudes and practices. If you are someone, who in addition, has to overcome physical restrictions this is even more of a problem.

Changing diet and exercise habits is far from easy for adults. Which is the reason why we need to get our children off to a healthy start. There are no quick fixes whatever claims may be made. Discipline and patience are called for.

However, the situation if far from hopeless for people who have physical problems. There is a form of exercise for everyone. If you are overweight, have difficulties standing or balance problems, for example, you could try working out seated on a chair.

Help could lie in purchasing an exercise DVD. Do be sure though to consult your medical practitioner before beginning a new regime. There are very many methods on offer.

Light weight balls or weights are a wonderful substitute for the machines in gyms if you are a senior citizen, elderly, overweight or a patient undergoing rehabilitation from an injury. Use of balls or weights should lead to an increase in strength, endurance and joint mobility.

Yoga, which can be undertaken as chair only sessions, not only helps with breathing and stress but also improves strength, balance and loosens up the joints.

Problem specific DVDs also exist such as those assisting with back pain, fibromyalgia, heart health, high blood pressure and post-surgery breast cancer rehabilitation. Tai Chi as a help for diabetes and arthritis has been endorsed by medical experts.

Dancing can be an excellent Mind-Body-and-Spirit workout. Research has shown that some patients with Alzheimer's disease can recall forgotten memories when they do dance steps to music they used to know.

Dance helps people of all ages and physical limitations to get and stay in shape. There is even wheelchair dancing which is rapidly growing in popularity. Dance, especially for older people, can be a good way of getting exercise and socializing at the same time.

If you can't or don't want to attend dance sessions then put on some music and dance around the house. Don't forget to spend time warming up and cooling down no matter what form your workout takes!

Don't ever give up and keep focussed on the valuable benefits of exercise!

Stop Procrastinating - Earn Serious Money Easily

I was over 30 years old and already a millionaire from a working class background when I first heard this word - procrastinating - in fact I was accused of it, to which I replied "I did not know if I was or not", because I did not know or understand the word. The superbly educated man who was trying to belittle with its use said it meant 'stalling' and 'time wasting' - to which I replied "Why didn't you say that in the first place." This got me a small round of laughter from the company we were in at the time.

Education is fine if you know what you are going to do with it, but quite simply so very many people, one of which could be you, are paying the price for being backward. Quite simply you are procrastinating. All my life I have found money so very easy to earn, just as much as I have ever wanted. Because of this fact, I have also found hundreds, in fact thousands, of idiots who use big words such as procrastination (taken from the Latin I later came to find out) to replace skills they do not have which in turn creates snobbery. Yes, that's right, snobbery which word once more derives from Latin and means without nobility, which is so incredibly stupid when you look at it because whilst it is very difficult to earn nobility, yet to earn big money is quite easy like anything else when you know how.

Which brings us to you, are you procrastinating when it comes to earning money, or is it simply that you don't know how to turn your hand to the skill. Which in itself then poses the question 'would you like to?' or are you happy procrastinating while life and all it has to offer far in advance oof what you already have passes you by. For years that now number as decades I have met people who could have earned 10 or even 100 times more during their lifetime than they in fact have simply because they don't or didn't have the dreams or goals to do so in the first place. If I could show you how to see and understand the thought patterns that have guided quite ordinary people to the status of the rich and successful would you like this education or do you prefer to procrastinate even more years away to nothing.

Let me return to the first line of this text, just what is being said here? A man who has gone from rags to riches as they used to say is prepared to show you how it's done. Are you so slow and lethargic to be saying 'pull the other one'. Make no mistake on this issue, anyone who wants to earn serious money can do so and the more they understand this subject, like any other the easier or even simpler it becomes. To be truly honest you already know that, so what answer are you going to give as an excuse to your procrastination.

All around the world there are places of education even in the poorest of countries they teach the basics and all the way up this ladder of education people fall by the wayside in masses. I think it will always be so. But for those who can see this and say no to this happening to them. People who are prepared to think above the preconception of the norm. People who don't want to be processed like ants or sheep. Take your pick because this is where procrastination lives by including you with the unwashed as those up the ladder of success refer to you.

When you are ready for your own sake to stand up and be counted to claim the share of wealth on this planet that could so very easily be yours, then look up the author of this script at Knoll Huse Interforum or his history channel Mr Salesmanship, because more than anywhere else on the planet, never mind simply the internet, this is your starting point. The only question will be can you stay the course, the trip to your own prosperity or will you be silly enough to let procrastination take you back to nowhere land that all those who no better call average. Believe it or not all those people have one thing in common and that is they are too busy trying to scrape a living to ever earn this serious money that people like this author find so very easy with little or even no competition from the so called masses which at present you list among.

Unlimited Music Downloads - Where To Download Instantly?

Downloading music is an everyday affair on the internet. Almost unlimited music downloads of the latest songs take place each and every hour online. People have gotten so used to downloading music since it is so easy to do it with todays web technology. With a few clicks of the mouse, you can search and find your favourite song to download. There are a dozen of online music stores that are packed with unlimited music downloads. Each site allows you to download as many music pieces as you wish for a monthly subscription. Recently, this has gotten even more exciting with new entrants that do away with monthly subscriptions and go for a one-time fee only. We will explore some of the options available for us to get unlimited music downloads.

Unlimited music downloads across multi-genres are offered at several music stores for music lovers like us to enjoy without spending massive fortunes. Here are a few excellent and popular stores that offer this kind of service to you for a reasonable rate.

1. AOL Music Now

With a library of approximately 2 million music files including songs and soundtracks, it is unlike many other sites that offer unlimited music downloads. It is a direct access site that allows instant downloading of music without having to download and install client application on your computer before you can download your music. For an extra $5 every month, you get to download unlimited music downloads onto your digital portable player.

2. Napster

The new Napster has revamped itself ever since the previous saga. But with this download site, you need to install special proprietary software on your computer in order to be able to download songs from its website. Up to this point, it is estimated to carry about 1 million songs in its database. Its To Go service allows you to download approximately 9 out of 10 songs in the database.

3. Rhapsody

One of the most established music stores that is still around after all these years. It has seen the years of changes in the music industry and how online media has gained its foothold today. This is a pioneer in the music arena to offer unlimited music downloads. The interface has an optional direct download feature which means that you need not download and install any proprietary software in order to access and download the music media. Rhapsody also offers users 25 free songs every month.

These are by far some of the long-standing and reputable online stores that offer unlimited music downloads legally. My advice is for you to avoid those totally free music download sites since there has been much trouble associated with these sites. Attacks by spyware and adware and the lack of IT security are just some of the reasons to stay away from them. Of course, if you wish to enjoy having unlimited music downloads without having to pay monthly subscriptions, you can always check out several popular sites at my music blog that can meet your music needs.

Davion is a music addict and carry do without them. Find out about hot and limited offers for unlimited music downloads at his popular music blog unlimited-music-downloads.blogspot.com.

The Mystique of Acoustic Guitar Solos

The acoustic guitar still holds a fascination for music lovers even after all these decades of our ears being bombarded by electric guitar music. Electric guitarists love playing with the sounds they get from different tone settings, effects, the use of the different pickups and feedback. The acoustic guitar has only the tone given to it by the wood it is made from and the skill and inspiration of the guitar player. So let us take a look at some acoustic guitar solos and the guitars and guitarists who made them.

If you do not know the name Erik Mongrain, you will find some examples of his guitar playing on video sites on the internet. I came across a very nice solo called Air Tap. He was given an acoustic guitar when he was fourteen, and learnt to play it by ear. While he learnt and experimented with the guitar he discovered the technique of sitting the guitar in his lap and tapping, the strings and body to produce music. If you go looking for him on the web you will find pdf files of his music and tutorials on his techniques.

Paco de Lucia introduced the world to a new brand of flamenco in the 1970's and paved the way for a new generation of flamenco guitarists who were inspired by his passion for oriental scales and jazz influences. Entre Dos Aguas was an improvisation begun during a recording session because the LP Paco and his accompanying musicians were working on was short on material. The resulting rumba was a worldwide hit and established Paco as a force to be reckoned with well outside the boundaries of Spanish folk music. Paco sponsors his own line of flamenco guitars.

Back in the 1990's MTV decided to coax guitar hero Eric Clapton into playing some songs without the adornments provided by an electric guitar and amp. The resulting album won Grammy awards, gave Clapton's career a shot in the arm and reinvented the song Layla as an acoustic showpiece. The solo on Layla is far removed from the original theme conceived by Duane Allman which made the song a rock anthem.

In the late 1960's Mason Williams surprised himself by writing and performing an acoustic guitar solo which became a hit and remained popular for the decades since. The tune was called Classical Gas, and is striking for its simplicity and popular appeal. Classical Gas was born in an era when instrumentals such as The Lonely Surfer, A Walk In The Black Forest and Love Is Blue were standout hits for musicians who were otherwise unknown. But only Classical Gas retains the ability to make people sit up and listen.

So if you play the acoustic guitar a little and would like to learn how to play solos, you can use the world wide web to learn more about soloing techniques for acoustic guitar. One easy way to start is the clawhammer technique used in folk songs, or you could learn to improvise your own licks using the minor pentatonic or "blues" scale. If you are stuck for an idea on how to begin improvising or making up your own tunes, start with a nursery rhyme or some other popular melody, and begin adding notes to it and changing things around to produce something original.

Ricky Sharples has been playing guitar his whole life, and is presently engaged in building a blog called Learn How To Play A Guitar For Free. Ricky's blog features free tools, lessons and resources for guitarists of all ages and stages. Ricky updates the blog regularly so if you are interested in learning to play guitar there will be an enormous variety of tip, tools and tutorials for you.

Making A Presentation In Front Of International Audiences

Making a presentation in front of international audiences is not for the fainthearted, they say.

They say that people from different cultural backgrounds with varying language skills are definitely more challenging than a homogeneous local audience. Are international audiences any different from local audiences? From a biological point of view, there are almost no differences as all humans behave similarly in response to basic stimuli like hunger and heat. The differences become crucial when one considers cultural conditioning.

Let us take the classical example quoted in many places. If the world were a village of 1,000 people, it would include: 584 Asians, 124 Africans, 95 Europeans, 84 Latin Americans, 52 North Americans, six Australians and New Zealanders, and 55 people from the former Soviet republics. They would speak more than 200 languages and reflect an astounding mix of different cultures. Fortunately, you would most likely never get such a mixed audience. Remember, what works in one culture doesn't always work in another. How can you make your presentation a success among people from different parts of the world?

Factors Affecting Audience Behavior

Many factors influence audience behavior e.g., culture, profession, gender, age, reason for being in the audience, state of mind, time of day and year and general mood. In fact every audience is unique. An audience of insurance salesmen in Germany is very different from an audience of German chemical engineers. So whenever a typical behavior is associated with certain nation states, you have to be extremely careful with these stereotypes.

Language Barrier

The language barrier plays a very important role, both for the speaker and the listeners. Many people in your international audience actually have jumped over large chasms of language and cultural divides in order to be there in that very audience listening to you. "Can I understand everything that is spoken there as they are speaking in English and my English is very bad?" or "What if someone asks me a question and I can't answer it in French in this seminar held in France?" These are typical fears that many people have overcome before they turned up in the international gathering.

In mixed audiences the language used is bound to be a foreign tongue for someone, if not for the speaker. Deficient language skills might considerably limit their ability to grasp much of the presentation and they have no way of dealing with that frustration with themselves. The fear of losing face in front of other people is very common, more so in Asian cultures. Many people think in their mother tongue and speak with the help of simultaneous translation. Many ideas are very challenging to be put into another language. So the task of the presenter is to make sure that central ideas come across easily and even to people who are not natives to the language of presentation.

Culture Affects Presentation Styles

Culture influences how people in different countries prefer to receive information. How interactive a presentation is, depends much on the culture. Typically English speaking cultures like presentations to be lively and interactive. Paradoxically there are similarities among Far Eastern, Slavic and protestant cultures like Germany and Finland. There presentations are formal and there are few interruptions. Questions are answered either when the presentation ends or quickly as they arise.

Many Europeans, particularly Scandinavians and Germans prefer to receive information in detail, with lots of supporting documentation. They want their presenters to be systematic and build to a clear point within their presentation. The Japanese business audiences, where senior managers are more likely to hold technical or management degrees are very similar. American and Canadian audiences, on the other hand, like a faster pace. Many Asian and Latin cultures prefer presentations with emotional appeal.

Different cultures gather and process information differently, in a way that is unique to that culture. We assume that speaking Spanish is a safe option in all countries where Spanish is spoken, but Hispanic employees from different countries even have different words for the same thing, and this can create conflict. Sometimes logic or reason can evade us. For example, there is no concept of guilt in some Eastern cultures. There is no Heaven or Hell, but there may be karma and shame. The Chinese are very strict about Mianxi, not losing face. When a Chinese person doesn't understand something due to language problems, she still says, "Yes, yes it is clear." People from a western background often have difficulties understanding this.

Humour in Presentations Presenters use humor skilfully to relax the atmosphere. Another very powerful tool is telling personal anecdotes which reveal humaneness connecting the speaker with members of the audience. There must be a relevance to the topic or theme, as speakers who talk very much about themselves are often considered self-centered and even tiresome.

The response to humour varies greatly across different cultures. Humor based on making fun of someone else is not understood in many areas of the world and is considered disrespectful. In some cultures like Japan, laughing aloud is a sign of nervousness and is not appreciated.

How audiences respond to presentations varies across cultures. In Japan, for example, it's common to show concentration and attentiveness by nodding the head up and down slightly-and even closing the eyes occasionally. Don't think that they are falling asleep. In Germany and Austria, for example, listeners seated around a table may show their approval by knocking on the table instead of applauding. Applause is accepted as a form of approval in most areas of the world but in the U.S, you might even get a few whistles if you have really made a great impression. If you hear whistles in many parts of Europe, you had better run because someone might start throwing tomatoes and eggs next. If you were finishing a speaking engagement in a Latin American country like Argentina and you waved goodbye, the audience might all turn around and come back to sit down. For them the waving gesture means, "Come back! Don't go away."

Handling Questions in Different Cultures

Ways of handling questions are very different across cultures. Brits or Americans almost always ask challenging questions. In Finland or in some Asian cultures, audiences are more likely to greet a presentation with silence or just a few polite questions. This is not always indifference but a show of respect.

As a presenter, you should have a clear goal of what you want to accomplish and how you will accomplish it. The goal should be easy to understand - even to someone outside of your organization or industry. If you can't summarize your message, how can the listeners? When the audience is international, you'll need to step out of your own frame of reference and focus on making communication relevant for your target group. The aim is to "localize." By focusing on the audiences' own frames of reference, you acknowledge their importance and pave the way for them to come closer to you. If for example, you are using a metaphor about snow blizzards and sleet to sub-Saharan people, they might not get your point, as they have no experience of snow blizzards.

The most vital thing to remember is that each and every member in your international audience is a fellow human being. If they feel treated well and get something for being there, they will appreciate your efforts and you will also succeed in your presentation.

Enjoy your success! Good luck.
